Default Just remember how good we have it boys......

So with all the AWB talk with the debate and all .. I went to do a bit of research on the Mass. AWB.

Came across a fourm called northeastshooters.com

Man the hoops these guys have to jump thru just to get a license to buy a firearm are ridiculous..

I feel like wrapping my self in a Colorado flag when I crawl into bed tonight. (Yes I understand this is not proper flag etiquette.. give me some artistic license here)

Seems like even living in Denver is a treat in comparison.

For a state(or "commonwealth" as they like to call it ) that hosted the "shot heard round the world" seems like nowadays it would have to be a couple of pots clanking together.

Live free my friends and God Bless Colorado!

Speculation is fruitless, we won't know until the bill is presented and we can read it on Thomas.

Yup. In several northeastern states handguns are so strictly regulated that you need a pistol permit just to touch a handgun at a store, range, or gun show. If a licensed gun owner lets you fire his handgun at a range, and you do not have a permit, it is a crime. If a family member who is a licensed gun owner dies, and you do not immediately call the police to have them take away any handguns, that is a crime. Simply owning an unlicensed handgun in a locked safe in your own home is a crime. Private party sales must be made via a FFL transfer between licensed parties with registration.

The northeastern states HATE gun owners. They will charge you with a felony over the most minor statutory violation, with mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines. An unlicensed handgun -- even if it in your own home -- is automatic prison in most cases. And to top it off, good luck getting a pistol permit there. 2nd amendment does not apply where prohibited by law. This is deemed a "reasonable restriction" and is unlikely ever to be overturned. In fact, over the past 20 years the gun laws have gotten even more restrictive.

Even NC, further South, has some odd requirements: you have to get signed character statements from a number of people to get an OK to buy a pistol. Lived there, did it, not fun at all.
