DIY... Lansky sharpener from Sportsmans for $31.99 http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/Lansky-Deluxe-5-Stone-Knife-Sharpening-System/productDetail/Sharpening-Kits/prod9999004113/cat100815

Should pay for itself in just a few sharpenings or only one if you prevent somebody from messing up your Delica.

Even I can get a good edge with this kit.....

Make a trip to the Spyderco HQ store in Golden. They'll sell you a great sharpener and show you how to use it.

A very long, but useful and interesting read.

Also look at just using sandpaper and a mousepad. Buddy showed me this. I was able to take a chipped up BK2 and bring it to shave hair off my leg. Start at 600grit then 1000, then 2000.

2000 will cut hair. This is a grit used in straight razor sharpening.

Also- using a mousepad or other soft surface such as nail file makes the blade convexed- giving a stronger edge with more steel behind it.

If you don't want to do it yourself there is Ricks Edge on Swope 633-2390.
I've used him several times and he does a nice job.

I was at bass pro yesterday and they had the lansky 5 stone kit and I asked if they price matched and they do so I got it for 31.99. And this thing works great by far the best edge I've ever put on my own knives I might go get some diamond stones

+1, got the Lansky 3pc diamond set a while back. Really liking it. Will be adding other pieces to the set.
