Maybe this is the new norm? You spout some crazy stuff about wanting to jihad on the infidels and then a nice friendly guy shows up to give you the means and BAM! you're locked away for a terrorist plot...

hmmm, wonder if one could start spouting stuff and get some free (legal) gifts as encouragement for the illegal stuff you are pretending to be undecided about.

Would be a very dangerous game to play though.

Wow, soooo I take it by this you guys support terrorism?

    Interesting...

Am I to judge by your commentary that had this puke succeeded you would have found fault with the FBI etc. for not being aware of a terror plot?

    Yeah, I think so...

There's a huge difference between breaking up a terror cell, and this which is basically entrapment.

Ahhh no, if you come to this country specifically to commit an act of terrorism, solicit material to build a bomb, exchange money for said materials, and then go detonate those materials, you have not been entrapped. You are a terrorist. The fact you bought those materials from an undercover agent is simply another in a long line of bad decisions you have made.

Eh, technically... with or without the "help" of the FBI undercover operatives, he wanted to blow something up here, just like a guy rants and raves about wanting to kill his ex-wife, it's not entrapment if you hand him a gun (not loaded) and he pulls the trigger... it just proves he was gonna do it.

I don't think anybody here advocated the guy's actions. It's just that in the past few years, the vast majority of foiled bomb plots have been with bombs the feds have provided the intended bomber with.

more like the FBI has destroyed its credibility by fabricating terror plots then foiling them.

I see these more like this:
Guy rants about his ex wife.
FBI: Why don't you shut up and do something about it instead of ranting.
    guy: I dont know
FBI: It'd be easy, I'll even buy you a plane ticket. Who would know.
    guy: I guess, ok
    guy gets nailed.

Did they guy do something wrong? of course.
Was he a danger before the FBI came along? Is anyone actually any safer? no
