that front sight guy does have a sweet mustache though, so that pretty much makes him a better shooter!

I use to live in Las Vegas and did attend some Front sight training. Mostly because I got it free. I attended their CCW training, it was free at the Nevada pistol academy as long as you bought your ammo from them because he wants everyone to own and carry. I also attended a couple classes up at the compound again because it was free. They do need to get some quality cadre, and quite catering to the delinquent's. The biggest difference between them and the other BIG schools is most of the new shooters go to Front Sight for the price. $600 for a 3 day school and you get a free pistol (XD but hey its free), last email I got.
Note: I wouldnt pay to go there, just me.
Unf.
I've actually not seen any real complaints about the courses themselves. The sales seminars, the Scientology ties, yes. But the reviews of the courses themselves seem to be very positive.
Planning to head out in October, myself. I paid $125 for a certificate to a weekend 4-day course. But I'll be in Vegas, anyway, and I bought the cert before the $99 deal.
I do plan to take a course from you, Kelly.
Guess I'll let you all know how I feel after I come back.
9mm - because they don't make a 9.1mm
Took the 4 Day Defensive Pistol Course, with my wife, on April 24-28, 2015........here is my take and I understood fully what I was getting into.........First, FrontSight is the Henry Ford of firearms training........you can have your Ford Model A in any color you want, as long as you want it in black!!!
So this trip was more for my wife to be in a safe training environment, and learn the basics.........and in that respect, Front Sight was great........That morning they checked in 998 shooters for over 20 ranges......rifle, pistol, shotgun, and subgun. Weapons and ammo inspection, to the welcome class, sign the legal stuff and out to the range........Instructors were scripted, but well prepared.......Safety was like an Army Range in basic training, but that's OK........
Weather was OK for us, just plan your trip according to weather.com.......... Places to stay in Pahrump are pretty average.....Saddle West Casino, Best Western, and the Winery.......not good choices but with 10 hours a day on the range, we didn't need 5 star accommodation's.....
A buddy had class certificates and gave them too us, but you can buy them on EBAY pretty cheap....$50 bucks. Cost of lodging food and travel........... Next trip I would look at staying in Las Vegas and just making a longer drive over in the morning.........
For skills building of accomplished pistol shooters, I would probably take local schools, especially if some of the big names came to town for a 2-4 day weekend class.......But for a beginner, Front Sight filled the bill and part of our trip was a great group of people that travelled with us and we all took the class together..........
PM with any questions..........
