On the subject of our southern border. We have family friends in the 'security contracting' business. He's talked to our family, out of concern, about calculated % likelihood of the Mexican gov't going bye bye with 5 years. 2 years. 1 year. Before the election. He's a no-nonsense, show me the numbers kind of guy. I took him seriously.

Sad to pay (for the trucks), glad to stay (behind the trucks).

Puts Fast & Furious in another perspective doesn't it?

Hasten Mexico's descent into failed state status and then even right leaning, freedom loving Americans will clamor for DHS to be further militarized.

And I'm sure if they bought 2500 of these things that 1) they won't all stay in the border states and 2) they'll order even more.

^ The calculated numbers of potential crossers he gave us, whether potentially hostile, political refugees, children, were unfathomable. 2500 isn't nearly enough, and probably the wrong tool for the job. Here is a nice graphic to illustrate the point. If 1% of Mexico's 110+ million fine citizens headed our way, that's 1.1 million refugees. One helluva camp.

Edit: Our friend, Mr. S did not say 1%. He guessed more.

I'm also under the impression the weapons from F&F were just a drop in the bucket. The most embarrassing drop in a big big bucket...

I'm bordering on fear mongering here, but the largest refugee camp in the world, Dadaab in Kenya, is approx 500,000 people. I'm sure it's a sad sad place.

I don't know, 2500 seems like an too large of a number to be true...maybe

    Default Busting the cartels

When you go bust a shipment of cocaine worth a few hundred million dollars on the street, you need protection. They are coming in tunnels, submarines, aircraft you name it! The days of apprehending sophisticated criminals in Chevy Blazers are over. It is a war!
