House almost burnt down

Rental house? I highly suggest you check out the clothes dryer (if it has one) and the vent pipe. I did that in a rental house once, and freaked out at the condition I found the shit in. It was ready to go up at any moment. The handle of the lint screen was broken, so the other tenants never cleaned the lint trap out. Blew my mind how much crap I cleaned out of the whole thing, and there was already paint burnt off part of the dryer, it had gotten so hot.

It wouldn't hurt to pop the panel(s) off the dryer and vacuum the built up lint out from the innards, that is where most dryer fires start It can be profitible too if pick out all the built up pocket change first.

Sadly when I was a landlord, part of the introduction to the cond was "this is a lint trap, clean it after every use". Worse yet was the hot little college chickies looking at me with the blank stare!

Electric motor burnt up. My mom's friend lost their house to something very similar but in the bathroom. Those things can be dangerous. Glad it wasn't bad.
