Drove past the spot about 30 minutes ago. Of ALL the potential places to pull a stunt like this up the canyon between Ned & Boulder, he picked the single worst place...and got his just reward.

Well,
educations don't come cheap
I had a Harley rider do this to me on Trout Creek Pass between Buena Vista and Hartsel. Rode my bumper for miles, finally overtook and faced a semi coming. I had to hit the brakes so he could get back in the lane. Always some jerk out there to ruin it for everybody.
As sad as this is, sounds like Darwin won another one
I feel for the person that rode over him as I find even driving over a rodent a bit disconcerting. Not to mention any damage done to their muffler and undercarriage.
Ray, does your family have a contingency plan in the case that you do not die in an accident, but your medical bills exceed your coverages?
"There are no finger prints under water."
I wear full gear, I promised my 6yo neice that I would! And I'm not gona back out on that.
P.S. My body is too banged up, if I take another spill, I don't know if I could make it out anyway.
This guy?? Well may he R.I.P.
Motorcycles and aircraft are two places where stupid often really hurts. I've paid some dues in this area when I was quite a bit younger - nearly lost my right leg. Too bad this guy's lesson wasn't a bit less final. Glad his foolishness didn't hurt anybody else.
I currently ride an 88 inch Softail instead of a crotch rocket because I find dumb stunts like the original topic of this thread to be a bit less tempting on the hog. Being on the wrong side of 60 helps a little bit, too. Now I hang back and enjoy the ride instead of trying to see how long my foot-peg spark trail can be in the corners.
I have mixed feelings about the helmet issue. While I usually wear one, I have no illusion that it will save me at freeway speeds; a helmet works best at lower speeds, where injuries to other parts of the body are more survivable. I am, however, absolutely opposed to laws requiring helmet use; my body belongs to me, not the state.
And on the helmet issue... I have a friend that retired from the FD. He told me basically over 45mph all a helmet does is keep your head intact so you dont have to have a closed casket. He had seen many motorcycle accidents and deaths in his 20+ years and I greatly respect his opinion. I do not think it should be a law just as I dont think seat belts should. Granted they both "can" save lives.. but it should be your choice!
