    Default Bird Mites!

These little bastards moved into our house about a month ago and after fighting them tooth and nail, I'm about to call in the pros to send them all to hell. The only problem is that heat remediation treatment runs 2 grand!

Has anyone ever dealt with these little f--ckers? For being small enough to be invisible they sure pack a mean bite.

I have nothing to add just what instantly came to mind.

First you need to find out where the birds are getting in, and solve that problem first. Then do battle with the mites.
My T.P. wheeling and dealing feedback is here.

No birds in the house or the attic. There were a few nests on the outside of the house that are abandoned. I'm thinking they came in somehow when the birds left.

I've bombed the house 3 times to no avail. All of you should pray that you never encounter these critters.

    Default No Pest Strip

I use these in my house. Crawl space and garage. Not recommended for living space, but if you are gone for a few days? They kill all insects.

Hy Yield 33 will kill anything without a backbone. Action plan. Cure the cause then kill in the little bastards. You should evac the house for a few days after treatment.

I'm going to try diatomaceous earth first. The guy at Murdoch's swears it will work and it won't kill those of us that are supposed to be in the house.

    Pretty interesting stuff.

Supposedly it kills any critter with a carapace and it is safe enough to eat. I'll report back if it works.

Cats can carry them in if they were in contact with a bird. Or they could come from a nest in the chimney. Everything that I have heard says that whatever you do to kill them, do it a second time 7 - 10 days later to kill the eggs that were previously unhatched and missed by the first treatment.

Two cats in the house, but they don't ever go outside. They do spend a fair amount of time near the windows where the abandoned nests were.

And thanks for mentioning the chimney. I'm going to take a good look up there tomorrow to make sure there isn't a nest up there.
