The same could be said about the inhaler. If you let someone else use it is that a huge liability? Yep. is it illegal? Yep. Have I ever done that? Yep. (knew the guy personally and knew he had asthma, not something I would do for average Joe, that's what ambulances are for) For that matter carrying a gun is like walking around with a lawsuit if used incorrectly, sometimes even when used correctly, but it could save someone's life. Risk vs. Reward and common sense play big parts here.
He doesn't even have a scope & blades to properly place the tube...kind of like carrying a spare magazine with no ammo in it...please tell me the common sense there? He needs to quit trying to be something he's not.

Didn't catch the ET tube part, just saw the NPA. Yeah, an ET tube is pretty much useless without the kit. The NPA is realitively harmless, ET tubes are no joke. I wouldn't want to try that, I'd be too afraid of breaking off someones teeth (the dummy we practiced on was toothless, lmao). Decompression needle one might be able to figure out with basic instruction...maybe.

They're out of my price range and budget currently. There are other uses for an et tube than the hospital setting. I have no problem admitting it is above my pay grade though.

Good items but again, have to be EMT-I or above to use legally in the US or face assault charges. If you don't have a BVM, then you're not following approved methods for using the device.

EMT-Bs are now allowed to place a King tube in Colorado, but you still have to have the BVM.

    Yep...

I totally agree with what coloccw has said about these devices, however I'm in the camp that I'll use whatever I need to help family and loved-ones.

Both true. Just picked up a pocket BVM, yet to try it but it looks like a good item to have along.
