I would love to see something practical, like a Beretta CX4 or HK USC, but designed specifically around the 10mm cartridge. Specifically, I am picturing a USC carbine, but at CX4 pricing, and with readily available magazines, sans the pretentious attitude. Somebody pinch me, because I am dreaming!
Be interested to hear what you don't like about the Mech Tech units, am pretty close to buying one.

    As am I.
DenverLEO, what kind of insight or experience do you have with the MechTechs? Is it just from an appearance/cannibalization aspect that turns you off, or is it something more?

I hear what you're saying, and I too would love to find a CX4 or USC or even Kel-tec Sub2000 in 10mm. But in the mean time the Mech Tech strikes me as a good force multiplier. I could see instead of having a truck pistol in 1 location and a rifle in another, I could instead use a G20 as the pistol, and pop the Mech Tech on if I needed longer range and/or more power. Hmmmmm.

Does anyone have any facts on the legality of these conversion kits and swapping back and forth from pistol to rife and back to pistol ? A while back I was thinking about one of the 1911 conversion kits, and upping it to .45 Super.
Wouldn't this be the same as taking an AR pistol, making it a rifle, then converting it back to a pistol ? As I understand, this is a big problem as far as the ATF is concerned. But I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
My T.P. wheeling and dealing feedback is here.

Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, and it stinks more than mine.

Does anybody make a 10mm levergun, like Marlin, Winchester or Henry? Or do those require rimmed cartridges? I likes my .44mag Winnie.

A gun could be converted (re-built), but I'm not aware of any lever carbines in 10mm or anyone doing a conversion. The mag feed trips off the case rim as well as the case head spacing off the case rim. There would be a bit involved to convert it... like a lot.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Find a 41 magnum lever gun and tell people its a "10mm rimmed".

I'd love to have a Keltec Sub2000 10mm, but don't think this one could be done from a converted .40 or 9mm, as the magwell and mags used are too small. A .45 one could be converted, but to the best of my knowledge they don't make one. Perhaps a Ruger camp carbine in .45 could be converted. Hmmmmmm.......

What about Feather USA? They make dedicated 10 mm carbines: http://www.guns-rifles-firearms.com/index.html
