    I have owned all three, plus a Mossy 590A1 and Maverick 88. The 870 is my bird gun, 500 for HD and the Nova I sold a long time ago. The nova action is junk IMO. I LOVE the 870 action and feel but the action release is in a goofy spot for me (left handed) and thats why I use 500 for HD. The 500 or 870 will both make a solid platform for HD. Lots of goodies available for either one.
