    Default Interesting story

Sorry mods, I accidentally posted this in the Legislation & Politics and meant to post it here in GD...

It took me about a minute to figure it out....

"So I needed my driveway repaved. I did an online search, and I found someone. It was a new kid that just started his own driveway paving service. After talking with him on the phone and listening to him speak, I decided to go with him. He had the absolute BEST deal in town.

Well, he showed up, took my money, then tore up my driveway leaving large chunks of tar, giant holes, part of my lawn is missing, and he crashed into my garage door and broke it.

He never actually finished the job, just made one hell of a mess and never did anything or cleaned up after himself. He told me the project was bigger than he thought, and he needed more time and money. He's already doubled what his original cost would be, and my driveway still looks like a mine field.

Now, there's another guy that has a good reputation for repairing driveways, comes highly recommended, and he wants to take the job over. But I've already given so much time and money to the current guy!!!

Should I trust the new guy, or give the old one another chance??"

this is the exact reason you pay a few more dollars for the job done right the first time . the best you can do is fire the kid ,go with a pro and take the bill in the shorts as a lesson

Aw hell, that didn't even occur to me. Is this thread some lame ass political analogy?

Is this you. If so, you got what you paid for. There are two reasons why one is the lowest bid.

The guy has been doing it for so long that he has his stuff together and can get in and out to make a profit. (Very rally happens)

The guy has no clue how to bid or do the job and messed up. (happens all the time)

Sounds like that "BEST deal in town" was tuition paid to learn an important lesson. I bet you won't make that mistake again. I guess you could take him to court, which will be both time-consuming and expensive. Do you have documentation (i.e. a contract)?

OK, I'll play along. You should have gone with the guy with the best resume: the most experience, and a record of success espoused by those who contracted his services in the past.

So by this reasoning, you guys all voted for the former two-term governor who built his own business from nothing, came from outside politics to beat an incumbent Democrat in a 2 to 1 blue State, won a second term by a larger margin than the first, and left the State in better fiscal shape than he acquired, right?
