    Hi guys,

I'm wrong and is legal the open carry here or this mans are bad and don't respect the law?

Open carry is legal except where expressly prohibited (e.g., federal property like post offices). Some establishments like First & Main Town Center are free to request you not carry on their premises; you are free to spend your money elsewhere. ;-)

Denver and Boulder have city ordinances (laws) against open carry, and I "think" there's another city that does too, but anywhere else in Colorado it's legal. Except of course where any kind of carry is illegal, such as government buildings, courthouses, etc.

Private businesses can "prohibit" open carry and ask you to leave, or ask the police to charge you with trespassing, but that doesn't mean it's illegal. Concealed carry isn't illegal either (with a permit), but some places don't approve of it and they can ask you to leave or face trespassing charges for that also. Still not illegal.

Just because some place of business doesn't want you doing something there doesn't mean it's against the law. Farting in church isn't illegal either, but generally frowned upon.

I must have past by you in WalMart. I saw the same 2 guys in the gun area yesterday as well.

It is legal in the Springs as others have already stated but I rarely see anyone open carry here.

Breckenridge is another area that is Not open carry.

It's Breckenridge? I thought I'd heard of another city/town that had a local ordinance prohibiting it. Any others?

Breck is weird...open carry IS allowed under some conditions, in certain areas, sometimes OR as long as you have a CCW ... too complex for most of us to fathom. Easier to just carry concealed with a permit...

Edit: Tfogger beat me to it!

I don't know the exact wording of the law but it may be one of those "city owned properties" type of thing? I'll try and look it up. I was just told they had some sort of open carry law there.

Denver is the only city with a general OC ban that withstood the preemption case a decade ago.

Any city can post signs over a specific limited area like a park or a city building, banning OC within that limited area. I've seen that especially around public buildings in Pueblo.

No city can restrict CC, except by going through the "security and electronic screening at all entrances to buildings" hoops.

None of this affects any Federal facility, which remains governed by 18 USC 930.
