There were still a few kids out when some dipshits started running an ATV up and down the road. ATV was towing a skateboarder and then picking him up at the bottom. Normally it wouldn't bother me but considering the darkness and kids still out, I went out to ask them to reconsider their poor choice to do this during trick or treating but they kept blowing by me. I finally stood in the roadway twice with my flashlight yelling at them to no avail. Little fockers laughed, so I called 911. Apparently they had just barely enough sense to duck and hide. Deputy called me after about 15 and said the "knuckleheads" must have packed it in.

If I see these little insolent smart ass bastards around the neighborhood again, there's gonna be some 'splainin to do.

I felt like I was in the movie Gran Torino...

FWIW, my youngest, now 28, was run over by a teen driver at the age of 12 while riding his bike. Coma for 5 days and suffered a minor TBI. He was then involved in a high speed rollover at 16 and ejected from the vehicle (low speed ejection). Nearly died, Craig rehab for 30 days, another minor TBI in addition to some major physical injuries. Still has issues, both developmentally and physically, so my tolerance for dumb shit drivers of any motorized conveyance is minimal.

The best part of Halloween is the day after. All the candy goes on sale at the grocery stores. You can buy a truckload and you don't have to give it away.

I remember as a kid we mostly carried pillow cases to collect candy. It was easy back then to get two or three hefty loads in an evening.

I only had 5 kids total I think. I was handing out handfulls as well, I thought the third kid was going to be the last and I had half a mind to dump my whole box into his bag and turn my light off, probably should have, would have been worth the look on his face.

We had a OK night - enough kids to keep it entertaining but no hordes. Wife stayed home to give out candy (including ALL of the Reese's cups dagnabit!) while my son and I went with our friend and their four kids. Only saw a handful of lazy teenagers with no costumes. The bums.

My brother and I hi-tailed it to our dad's last night to watch a movie and avoid all the strange costumed midgets- our neighborhood was completely overrun, and it took us 5 min just to get .5 mi to exit the neighborhood... Here's where I live and it's all flat so you can see how it would appeal to the children on this strange festive holiday:

The day after Halloween with a two year old is like the day after Lindsey Lohan decides to stop drinking.
Math is tough. Let's go shopping!
