I really think most of you guys are misunderstanding this person. He isn't a gun person, he is just a patriot that wants to do what he can to protect US Service Men. He obviously doesn't know much about guns so the only thing he can do is to be a distraction or target, hence the bright 'Shoot Me First' shirt and the eye distracting crocs. The bad guys would ignor him as being harmless and not a threat if he wasn't holding a gun.
