Default CRC Multi-Gun Matches (Byers, CO)

For those of you with Calendars, here is the plan for 2013:

    Feb 2 - .22rf
    Mar 2 - MG
    Apr 3-7 - A2 MG Championship
    May 4- MG (4G Stage)
    Jun 1 - MG
Jul 6 - SCRUBBED (looking at a new date)
Oct 5 - Drive Up MG

The Feb match will be like a MG match, but 10 rounds pistol and 20 rounds rifle (all rimfire) on 4 stages.

The April match is the Area 2 Noveske Multi-Gun Championship. 10 stages, 420 rounds, CHEAP entry fee. www.comgchamp.com Apps should be up on the webpage today sometime.

May is ONE stage, 4 guns, about 300 yards of movement, probably about 60 rounds per gun plus 15 required rounds of precision rifle (60 seconds PAR and you can use your AR). It will be 10 minutes or so of glee!

Mar 2, Jun 1, Jul 1 will be normal MG mathces.

Might do an intermediate level class in August on the 30th.

I've also put Oct 5 on the Calendar for the 1st Annual "Drive-Up" Multi-Gun. Meaning, you show up and go shoot 150 rounds COLD with no walk through. Just a card with instructions, and get to it. Probably a $50 entry with some prizes. More details to come.

If the weather holds, I am planning on doing a 3G/MG class on November 23rd 2012, black friday. We'll set up a fun shopping spree stage to run at the end.

    Mark,

Excellent ideas for matches this next year!

Something else you may want to try out for one of the normal matches is a First Come, First Served type match. I shot an IDPA match like this in Piru, California that was put on by the guys that originally started the Steel Challenge. They set a start and end time for the match registration. You can show show up anytime in between and sign in and start working though the stages. There are no squads, just ROs dedicated to each stage and you just walk up to a stage without a line and shoot. If there is a few people at each stage, you hand in your score sheet and wait your turn. There was like 90 shooters that shot this match but my buddy and i were out of there in 2 hours because we got there early.

Just something else to think about to mix it up.

Only problem with that is set up, tear down, stage resetting and clean up.

Ah ha!.... I knew I forgot to mention something...

The match was $25... The ROs did all the setup and tear down and they got paid. And of course they shot for free before anyone else shot. Clearly this was a large match with lots of shooters so the money was there to pay the ROs. And I was plenty happy to pay the $25 so I could just show up, shoot and leave. I was on vacation and didn't want to burn an entire day at the range. They were even nice enough to get me a set of mags that were Kalifornia Commie legal so I just had to show up with ammo and highly secured gun that was unlocked from my trunk upon arrival.

Thanks for putting up the schedule early Mark, having these dates set so far in advance is very helpful for planning them around work/family.

I am really looking forward to the Noveske Multi-Gun Championship again this year and have a set a goal: don't DQ.

Jason, we do rolling squads for the USPSA pistol Super Classifier. For 3gun, set-up, tear down is an issue.

That October 5 match will be close. Show up, shoot, RO/re-set for a few shooters and then you can leave.

Changed the date of the "Drive Up MultiGun" from August 31 to October 5 due to a calendar conflict.

So for the 22lr match we don't have to worry about reloading if we have 10rnd pistol and 20rnd rifle mags? Do we need a holster for the handgun?

Is this the same as the NSSF Rimfire challenge that I see on the crci calender?

I see the Noveske shoot is from the 3-7, but you shoot on fri-sat or sat-sun? Are Wed and thursday setup days?

    Thanks
I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.
