I threw away the directions in true man-style... but I believe the canner has a maximum BTU rating. I use my canner on my home gas stove just fine. I just ran into problems when I decided that my turkey fryer burner would boil faster.

I was trying to cut corners and trying to make the process faster, but in canning I learned that cutting corners = bad results.
