Salesperson. (picks up package examines, checks all fine print) No.
Me. Excuse me, what caliber is your DPMS?
Customer #1. .223
Me. Yes, it will fit.
Salesperson #1. Be sure to keep the receipt in case it doesn't fit...

One Day video sales clerk, next day Gun expert. I had to explain the reason why IWB's are set up the way they are because the skippy @ Sportsmans while he was telling a customer that if he was right handed he needed a left handed holster

Sigh... gun store commandos... the worst offender is Specialty Sports. It's hard for me to keep my mouth shut listening to the line of crap some of them feed their customers. Wish I could set up a lemonade stand just outside the store and offer common-sense firearm counseling for 5 cents. "Good grief!" :-)

On a side note though - I've been consistently and pleasantly surprised by the guys at DCF Guns in Castle Rock (I'm not affiliated... just a loyal customer). I like to go into gun stores with an air of greenness the first time, to evaluate the character of the salespeople. They gave good advice and direction each time I went in, and I think they're solid on their knowledge.

You're not the first with that complaint about Specialty Sports... Do a forum search for Specialty Sports and you'll find all sorts of negative feedback.

Usually, sporting good stores sometimes hire people who are good with plan-0-gram. They might have no idea about firearm accessories or firearms. THey hire them to work.

I was at gander a while back and one of the "experts" was trying to sell a g32 to a guy, and was telling him that the velocity of the .357 sig was over 2500 fps. I just walked off. as far as speciality sports goes its a great place to fondle neat stuff, hear great sales pitches, and buy it somewhere else.

i may be an annoying sales man but my customers or i should say a large percentage of people who stop by my table are even worse . i get everything from 10 tour airborne-ranger-delta-force recon-sniper-seals who have killed more people than small pocks to 18 year old kids who try to give me the 411 on my toys . sorry mister bad ass ,your not that bad ass and if you were you would not be a 50 + inch waist while only being 5 feet tall at 30 years old and sorry kid that is not and never will be a damn rocket its a fucking mortar round , i dont care what you video game says . also i cant wait till the election is over . yeah yeah obama is bad , commies this and left wing that , blah fucking blah . buy my crap or dont ,but dont waste my time and potential sales with your bitching about the gov........ oh i could bitch for hours about this subject . the point is while you may think that the salesman is bad , try working the other side for a day . you just might find that the costumer is worse in most cases .
