Get into the Starbucks line, get about three cars deep into the drive-through lane, and everything comes to a halt. A few minutes later, a young girl comes around the lane to tell people she is stuck. There are about 10 cars in the captive lane, all of which would have to back out. Everyone is just looking at each other like 'now what?' I grit my teeth, get out of the truck, and push her car through the drive-through. We get up to the drive-thru exit, and the one guy in front of us at the window is busy chatting up the window girl! He finally gets the message, and pulls forward into the only available parking spot. I pushed the girls out of the drive-thru lane and into a handi-capped space down the parking lot. Not optimal, but at least out of the way.

Now there is a lot of honking going on, as apparently the folks who pulled into the drive-thru only see my unoccupied Titan blocking the path. I'm pretty sure one lady gave me the finger. On the plus side, apparently the lady a couple cars in front of me paid for my coffee, which I thought was a very nice gesture. Helped me keep the a-holes in perspective.

Finally, I get home. There are three houses going up around mine, and as usual, the contractors have parked in front of my house and on the curb directly opposite my driveway. This time, there is also a truck with a bunch of rafters hanging off the side. As I try to squeeze my Titan past this obstacle course, I hear a loud 'thunk', and see an over-hanging rafter tail connect with my mirror like a baseball bat. Driver's side glass shatters.

Now I am sitting in my house, afraid to go out and get struck by a meteor, afraid to stay inside and be involved in a gas explosion. Today is not my day!
