    Default Documentary "Inside Job"

So I watched this the other night and can't believe I hadn't seen it before. If you haven't seen it, it's a must. It really shows you who's running this country and who's to blame when it falls on its face. Answer the poll: Have you seen it? Yes or No.

Narrated by Matt Damon? Color me skeptical on it's veracity. No, I haven't seen it.

I haven't seen it either, but it seems like it might be similar to the "red pill" documentary.

Well we know Damon doesn't have an agenda
I tried watching some war movie with him The Green Zone. 10 min tops in to it and the shit was too deep.

I wouldn't watch or believe any crap out of Matt Damon any more than I would Michael Moore.

Matt Damon is just the narrator. Probably his best work he's done actually. I don't like him. The documentary highlights failures by the last three presidents and focuses on banking/insurance sector executives who bankrupted America, caused the housing collapse, a recession, and the theft of taxpayer dollars. Yes, the SEC was in on it too. If you're sick of corrupt politicians fucking over American citizens, you'll be glad you watched it.

See, the premise is flawed ... and you could guess that just from Damon's involvement. The financial crisis DID start in the late 90s when even the Washington Post noted craziness in the stock market and housing industry. I remember one article in the ComPost highlighting how crazy it was that a journeyman plumber with a wife and 3 kids making $60K/yr was able to get a no-down loan to buy a $400K house. The plumber in question was banking on the ever-increasing housing market to let him flip the house the next year and make $100K or more.

Banking sector made big bucks off this but it was pushed by Congress and the Clinton administration by extending and distorting the Community Reinvestment Act to the point they were suing banks who refused risky loans. If you're a banker and you have a choice between federal lawsuit or issuing a federally-guaranteed loan, what do YOU do?

The Damon film is trying to deflect blame from Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton, Robert Rubin and Lloyd Bentsen over to the bankers and insurance industry.

Blaming a market failure primarily on industry should be an immediate red flag.

Probably best to see the film before pontificating. You might be right, you might not be. I've seen it and won't comment as it's not my place to pass judgement but commenting, with assumed authority, about a movie one hasn't even seen, is impressive in and of itself...
