Back up your allegations that Romney is a crook. Yes, I expected Romney had a chance to win but I didn't expect the American public had fallen so far as to

    • reelect someone whose record demonstrates his own party should have thrown him out in the primary cycle despite the demonstrably negative effects on every American's pocket book
    • elect a proven fraud shown to have illicitly claimed racial preferences and practicing law without a license just because she's in the right party
    • enable widespread fraud with same-day registration, importation of voters across borders and rejection of simple photo ID measures
    • not just fall but fall HARD for racist and sexist propaganda

Obama WILL impose gun control through a stealth UN treaty and executive orders. He didn't care about congressional support before this election, why would he care now? Yesterday was more proof that America has fallen to the forces of decay and petty personal comforts and conveniences. Social liberal trends outvoiced fiscal conservatism. Government handouts and collective feelings of entitlement have sunk the pursuit of a more perfect union in favor of more convenient unions.

The one good thing from yesterday's elections is that it wasn't a case of Johnson giving Obama the election the way Perot gave Clinton 1992 and 1996.

The "noble experiment" has come to an end. It didn't work because the people, in general terms, we're too lazy to make it work.

I've never felt such utter despair. I'm not even angry. I'm just devastated. I can't believe the country I grew up to love so much, has come down to this.

"Obamaphones" have won out over liberty. I really don't see a way off the path that we're now on.

Sometimes, because I'm not sure whether I am on the front end or tail end of whatever history we have in the US, I don't know whether I am fighting a forward looking campaign to build a better America for my children, or fighting a rearguard action so the mess I turn over to my children isn't greater than they can handle.

Either way, it ain't over till they put dirt on top my box.

Pick a side and stand up. That is the American Way.

Unfortunately the decision has been made and it's over. We still need to stand by our convictions and take the high road while we hold the politicians accountable.

    Oh, sorry! I wasn't clear.

He has bigger fish to fry increasing taxes and growing the deficit. I don't think he's going to improve anything.

Until the republican party can bring a fiscal conservative that can leave their Socio-Religious bile at the door they have no chance to win. And for what its worth I am a Republican.

I find it offensive that have lost allot of money these last 4 years in my retirement accounts. I find it offensive that my salary has not gone up in the last 4 years. I find it offensive that that my I an my kids will be paying for this nations debts while a good chunk of the population who voted for Obama sit on their butts every day on the governments handout. I find it offensive that I and people like me the ones working and paying taxes are critiziced for being who we are. I find it offensive that the other side criticises business owners for building a business. I find it offensive that we have a corrupt media covering for the other side. I find offensive as a vet to see service men and woman being told that they need to lose health care and other benifits. I find it offensive that the other side wants to decimate the tradion of the military. Tell me Pancho why the bleep should I and other conservatives compromise when the other party does not? My values I feel are shared by a good chunk of the population who does not sit around or squander their potential. I have served my country and i serve my community everyday and I Damm well entilted to be offended by the other side. Personally I feel that we can still get some satisfaction the next couple of years by hold politicians accountable. I am going to use what influence I have to do something. We all have influence, let's use it.

I don't want you guys to compromise on taxes, the deficit, etc. Which you already do in spades. Romney's plan was to grow the budget a little less fast than Obama, and given some of the things he advocated (700 billion medicare increase, for example,) I highly suspect that was just a lie tossed out to fiscal cons to keep them from just saying fuck it and staying home again.

When your God puts a soul into a body is, well, a theological issue and one that is highly disinteresting to me. It goes from disinteresting theological passtime to a black mark when you start trying to impose whatever theological hash you guys end up deciding on, on people who disagree with it or who don't believe in your God, which is an increasing number of people in this country.

Like I said in another thread, I'm all on board with balancing the budget, cutting taxes, drastically simplifying the tax code, removing regulations, repealing Obamacare in it's entirety, instating free-market reforms of our drastically overegulated medical industry, etc. Romney wanted to do none of that except maybe cut a few regulations. He couldn't even propose going back to spending levels under Bush - which were already way too much - but settled on "Under my plan, the growth of government will slow down a little and if we're lucky and the economy grows at a ridiculous pace, the budget will balance itself in 20 years!"

We were still going head-first over a cliff with Romney. At least now when Obama's disastrous policies result in an American lost decade the Ds will get credit for it, and maybe the GOP can put forth someone who's fiscally serious instead of a joke, and I can actually hold my nose and vote for him.

Seriously, guys. Look at the numbers. Until you get a candidate who can run on balancing the budget, drastically cutting SS, medicare, medicaid and (yes, sorry guys, I'm not a fan of this either) the military, we're going to be chugging headlong towards that fiscal cliff. Together, welfare spending and the military constitute almost 90% of the federal budget in a given year. There's nothing else to cut from that makes a difference, and don't make mistakes, bullshit accounting tricks like decreasing the rate of growth won't cut it.

The good news is, gravity has a way of asserting itself, and we'll have a balanced budget one way or another. The bad news is, it will probably be balanced (at first) by either inflation or draconian taxation (whether it's a D or R in office, neither side is interested in serious cuts.)

Quit acting like this was the final chance to get things right. Romney wasn't getting anything right.

If 100% of GJ voters voted for Romney (a really unlikely event given that GJ also took votes from Obama and in the last couple weeks leading up campaigned heavily on issues that dems are excited about - I think his ideal plan was for Romney to win and for him to still get that 5%) Romney still would have lost in a landslide.

Get over your bitterness and put a non-stupid candidate up next time.

    +1

I was surprised at how heavy of a role the social conservative element played at caucus. I mean, really? We have record unemployment and the biggest concern is so-called "moral issues?"
