SAFriday, I understand exactly what you are trying to say and completely agree. I'd like to be part of the conversation, but you've already expressed my sentiment perfectly.

Dwalker, you should really express yourself more often as you have done in this thread.

WHAAAAAAT? They lost 70% of the vote of the fastest growing demographic in the country?

Ya, you got it. Adapt or find yourself all stuck in the back of the short bus.

In the original post we saw this:
The majority of women in this country will NOT vote for anyone who is going to spend any time money or lip service in abolishing abortion or plan parenthood.
This is an example of the misrepresentations that the Democrats succeeded in planting with the MSM's corrupt cooperation. Romney Ryan did not propose abolishing abortion nor planned parenthood. In the case of abortion, there was not any campaign theme at all. In the case of Planned Parenthood, the proposal was ending federal govt financial support of Planned Parenthood. The Obama campaign's ads were dishonest in claiming that this would end mammograms for women as Planned Parenthood does not provide such.

    2. There is a HUGE, massive, gigantic young voters block in this country in the last two elections. I walked by it every day on campus. I saw Obama EVERYWHERE, jack shit Romney support. The commercials attacking Romney concerning college money went essentially unanswered in the main stream TV and young voting block campaign areas. There are little to no jobs for the 18-25 +/- year old to start right now. They are flocking to campuses and quite frankly, the Republican party MUST support education with tax dollars and voice this loudly. Once again, the Republicans ostracized a very large voting block residing in most metro areas. With the current economy, this voting block is larger than norman and they voted in huge numbers this year.
This is nonsense as well. Current student loan programs do a great deal of harm - I know as I teach part time at the community college level and I see the large amount of debt being loaded onto young people with little result.

    3. The Latino immigration vote. This one is tough, because there are a lot of secondary issues concerning the latino population right now, the most critical being the boarder. BUT, the Republican party didn't say a single word in advertisement concerning this issue. This translated to, 'vote for Romney and he's going to stick it in you' after he's elected to those directly impacted by immigration. This also adversely effected his vote count in large metro areas, especially in NM, CO, and FLORIDA!!!!!
The idea that there is some great mass of conservative hispanic voters avoiding the GOP party for some reason like immigration policy is nonsense. The hispanic population is far from monolithic but its going Democratic because its has large proportion of left-leaning beliefs.

Wow... Thanks for clearing that up. So he DIDN'T lose 70% of these three voting factions then, right? His complete lack of addressing abortion or plan parenthood DIDN'T come over as a complete avoidance of the issue because his position was well understood. Obama's campaign DIDN'T play the commercial once ever two or three hours showing Romney telling every student in the country to borrow money from their parents without any readdress on the matter, regardless of what the truth might be. and... you didn't even look at the link in the post right before yours...

So, how did he lose every major metropolitan area in the entire country again?

Either I am misunderstanding what you're saying here, or you are misinformed. PP does more breast exams than abortions. Source

IMO they should not receive federal funding, but mine is not a moral objection.

The GOP platform specifically states the goal of abolishing abortion past 20 weeks, as well as Romney making statements that he wanted to overturn Roe vs Wade, abolish funding for Planned Parenthood as well as removing support for any international aid resources that promotes or provide abortions. Not really sure how you can argue against these facts. You can't fix the problem the GOP has in connecting with others if you can't identify why the message is failing.

Personally I think the GOP is in a lot of trouble for a variety of reasons, but the main issue is they keep on having members lose the primaries due to tea party challenges but then the tea party challenger loses the election due to being too extreme for the average voter. Gerrymandering will keep the GOP relevant for a bit, but if they don't change they will no longer be a national force within the next 8 years as they won't be able to win Senate/Presidential elections.
