They have been doing this for the last few generations.
This last election is a perfect example.

We are beginning to reap the fruit of the "Me Generations".
These are the kids that were never spanked, always got a ribbon for showing up etc.
They only think of themselves and "what's in it for me"?
They have no sense of Civic duty or obligation to something greater than oneself.
