Is the rule requiring lead bullets only (no jacketed) for handguns still in effect?

Yes it is. Lead bullets only for handgun and fmj or lead only for rifle. ( no soft points for rifle ) The reason for this is that the majority of the targets are steel. There is no long range rifle. All rifle is typical CQB stuff. The farthest rifle target is apprx. 75 yards, and there is only one of those. Hope this helps.

I dont have any lead bullets at all is the main problem. But the fact they gum up my dies and make me clean my guns is the other.

Is the match director willing to budge in the lead only deal? Heck, we shot 20 something steel matches this summer and most everyone used jacketed ammo. No huge injuries (an occasional frag, but it also happend with straight lead also) and the targets still look new.

Bounceback/frag is mainly a function of target face quality.
