John Carter was an AWESOME movie. It flopped because of poor marketing and people just not giving it a shot. That was one of the best movie that came out this year. Period.
And the Angry Birds Star Wars deal was made before Lucasfilms was sold to Disney. The game is awesome, as all of them have been, and how they sneak the movie references in is pretty dang clever.
Whenever my wife asks me why I never wear pants around the house I simply remind her:

The truth wears NO pants!
As a HUGE fan of the original novels, I agree. There were a couple of changes made that I didn't care for (for one thing giving him long hair made the movie look like every other "fantasy with swordplay" movie ever made, and I think they made John Carter a little more misanthropic than I remember him being ... was always an air of calm optimism and sense of duty in the character in the books that they decided to replace that with self-centered angst).
The other problem is that I don't think people are as familiar with the source material as they would have been a generation ago (of course a generation ago the movie would have looked like Jason and the Argonauts or the original Clash of the Titans and we'd all be bagging on it's stop-motion awfulness).
As for Angry Birds Star Wars, I'm loving it. I love how they've incorporated the Star Wars elements and levels like Angry Birds Space (which was my favorite of the series up to this point). Can't wait for the "Hoth" upgrade pack that is supposed to be out soon.
Modern liberalism is based on the idea that reality is obligated to conform to one's beliefs because; "I have the right to believe whatever I want".
