    I clicked on that link for Texas and found that not only do they have over 25,000 signatures, I supposedly already signed that petition (copied the text and put below).

    kinda makes you wonder what will happen ? nothing as ridge says or complete melt down of the country as we know it

    You're probably right, but if enough Texans put this up on their facebook profiles, and make it go "viral" then something is going to happen... even if it's just further discussion about impacts and implications of secession. Discussion and rhetoric are good things as far as I'm concerned.

    While clicking "Like" might have stopped Kony's reign of terror, I don't think it has quite enough power to dissolve a nation just yet.

    26,000 "signatures" (not all of which are necessarily Texans) out of nearly 26,000,000 people ... even if the petition were legitimate and serious, the only thing this petition is good for is a laugh and to draw media attention (but it won't).
