Default Looking for someone to do some gun painting for me..

Looking for someone to paint some shotgun parts for me - but I need it done in automotive paint (candy reddish metallic to be specific).

I have a whole HVLP setup and I have DuraCoated things for other people - I know how to paint normal stuff - but I've never painted candy (and the DuraCoat metallic doesn't have the look I am after).

I also don't really have the time to do this correctly and I really want someone who already has everything ready to go and can just knock this out in an hour or two. Again, I know I could get the paint myself and just do it myself but I don't want the hassle on this.

Any suggestions? Someone/place nearish the tech center or farther south would be ideal.

Candies require several coats and clearcoat, might be a little too thick to work on a firearm. I have some custom paints I use that give the look of liquid copper or liquid gunmetal, and even though they go on very thin I think between primer, base, mid, effect, and clear coats your going to have issues.. Just my .02

Benelli Cordoba w/ Comfortech.. Looking to just do the metal parts so I'm not worried about paint thickness to much here.

Barrel and receiver? They make a single stage candy base coat that gets the color pretty fast, but because the candy is an analine alcohol based dye, you need a catalized urethane clear to lock it down and give you uv protection. I am up north in Latayette. You can see my work at www.mikelearn.com.

One concern is not being an FFL holder which makes it illegal for me to take possession of your receiver.

Not painting the stock. Just the metal - and no internal parts (leaving the bolt black).

I might recommend powder coating to you for durability and heat resistance. Just tape it off appropriately.
