After reading that petition, I have to point out an obvious thing - the reason you lost to Obama is because of stuff like that. Simply put the right wing has gone off the deep end. Its no longer the party or the ideology of Barry Goldwater (someone I respect and agree with on many things). Instead it has become a movement that is summed up in that petition. Sooner you guys figure that out, the better we all will be. Because our country can not function if one side is off in crazy land and the other is worthless.

Agreed, but I think you and I are referring to different sides. The extreme left evidently just wants to be a communist state, and that does not sit well with those of us who prefer liberty.

Sure the extreme left also has all sorts of delusional problems but they were decisively shoved out of power. The Democrats rebuilt themselves years ago so they are marginalized. These people get a few symbolic pats and some low level patronage jobs when they're in power. They can be annoying but they are muzzled. The labels communist and socialist sound horrible but how does that apply to economic policy run by tools like Geithner, Summers & Rubin?

The GOP is in danger of becoming the John Birch society, an ever dwindling number of batty old white grumps. It doesn't help to have candidates like 'Legitimate rape' Akin high on the ticket. It's just handing the keys to the country to the Democrats.

I'd be more impressed if some of you guys cared that we have a president who has developed a system, secret and undebatable, where US citizens can be accused and sentenced to death anywhere in the world. Of course the lefties don't like it so you won't touch it.

Please explain in detail the ideology of the left to give us a better understanding. Im tired of the left saying WE are the problem and WE should change our ways. I have been called RACIST, Homophobe, Anti_insert anything here_, you name it. Where is the sane rationing you speak about. I have only seen people bent on control and intolerance, corruption and lies. Why are they so obsessed with how I LIVE MY LIFE and project what they hate on me when I have only lived my life, taken care of myself and my family and others when I can. Why do I have to change the way I live my life to conform to anothers belief system based on the imaginary belief that everything that is AMERICA is bad and MUST BE CHANGED FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE? Those people are the supposed victims of everything they cant stand. The same people who dropped out of school, never served there country, the ones who never went to college, got pregnant or got someone pregnant, the people who use the color of there skin as an excuse for everything that has gone wrong in there life. What is MY responsibility to them? Why do I have to change, sacrifice, conform, give up or be punished for them?
I am begging you to explain WHY? Im am tired of being the bad guy here as with all of us who are being attacked and forced to do something or give up something like religion, wealth, happiness or my beliefs so others who play the role of the victim can feel better about themselves! WHY? What do you or others gain by this? Fairness, equality, personal satisfaction of saying you made a difference to others by brining us all down to the same level of poverty? Just what is it that the left wants from us? Help me understand. You call us crazy but we are not trying to force you into a life of...of...I dont even know what o call it. Misery? Control? I know you may blow this off or claim paranoia but you need to make us Clingers and Bible Thumpers, us Radical Gun Owners who are threat to your way of life understand.
