10 seems reasonable. Then if you need more, just go to Wyoming and bring some home.
20 if they are chinese mags or 10 if they are factory!

So if your load out is like mine, I have 9 rifle mags (1 in gun, 2 on belt, 6 on PC) and 4 pistol mags (1 in gun and 3 on belt). I keep the LO mags in my kit, the same number as a second line, and 5 rifle mags and 2 pistol mags as spare as a minimum per gun.
Multiply that (your load out for the particular gun) for however many guns you may or may not have.

I have 10 per handgun but all 40 of my "high capacity assault baby killer magazines" disappeared as soon as they ran out of ammo per congresshag DeGette.

In all fairness, maybe he was asking for advice, not how many YOU have personally. Or maybe it was a stupid question.

I say at least 50 per gun at a minimum, then you shouldn't run out.
Best is to keep as many mags loaded with as much ammo as you have...you cant shoot and load at the same time,
Got 1000 rounds....you need 34 30 round mags
