Eh, I listen to everything and anything if it's decent songwriting. (Which I don't think Bruce Springsteen counts as IMHO - don't care for any of those "heartland rockers" except Tom Petty) Doesn't matter to me what the person's politics or personal life are - it's not like I'm voting them into public office. I'm even a big fan of Elton Jon and David Bowie. Doesn't mean I'm ready to throw on a dress and go find a pride parade to dance in. ;-)

Nope, can't explain it. Never could see why his music is so popular.

I'll side with the hive, I don't get him, never did.

I saw him a couple of times in the 70's. He put on a great show. Hell of a band. His long winded personal talks seemed silly but the crowd ate it up. I always thought that that should be the stuff a musician breaks out when there's a technical problem but that part of his show. To me, his fan are like Dead Heads or goths, a strange subculture.

There's two country songs that mention him, including one that has his name as the title I think, and I can't even stand to listen to them!

    LMAO. This!

Anyone who thinks Pittsburgh or Cleveland is cool either hasn't been there or lived there all their life and doesn't know any better.

I like some 80's Springsteen, but mostly because it just brings back some good memories of summers spent at the Frio River with Glory Days blasting from a radio somewhere.

The best part about Jersey, Pittsburgh and Cleveland is seeing it in your rear view mirror... Visited those places and 5 min is too long of a stay, much less a few days, or even a lifetime...

I like Springsteen for his music, but when the music stops and his mouth opens, I don't really care to hear what he has to say. Pretty much goes for most musicians, except for Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins and Uncle Ted to name a few...

Maybe Springsteen has the same kind of "attribute" that Milton Berle was reputed to have, and that's why the chicks dig him.....

I rank the bosses success to the same thing that made Seinfeld such a success, NJ and NYers find it good entertainment. I personally don't get either of them.

I'd give my eye teeth to be able to download AC/DC and Tool from iTunes, but I've never even tried to find Springsteen on there.
