    I hear ya. $36 bucks at Wally World and the cheapest fryer was 59. Then you gotta buy the bird and for 2 adults and a kid it just doesn't pencil.

    I just use clear frying oil, 25.00 bucks at sams, and I do mine and a couple of my friends and charge them 10.00 bucks apiece, so it only costs me the bird and 6.00 bucks. then I save the oil and do another one at chistmas.

    Fried turkey is the absolute best!!! Smoked turkey is second.

    A buddy of mine has an open thanksgiving party, usually has 20-40 people show up. 3 fried turkeys and a keg. Always a good time.


    And this year Bird Dog BBQ in the Springs was selling smoked turkeys if you preordered, not especially expensive IIRC. Maybe next year.
