Default i did a stupid thing at the range today........

Sighting in my new LAR 8, and started shooting. Was on paper at first. Noticed as I started to try to move the dial up that my impacts were moving horizontally not up. Well fired 18 rounds before I figured out that I had mounted my scope wrong the left to right knob was up and the up and down knob was on the side. I felt like a idiot, been shooting for about 30 years and this was the first time I did this. I was in a hurry when I was mounting the scope in the morning. Oh well, pays to double check your own work.

So, are you a lefty ? As you described, that would have put the elevation knob on the scopes left side. Unless of course if you also mounted the scope backwards.....that may also explain why the 25 yard target looked like it was a mile away......

We are not laughing with you, we are laughing at you......

I've done the same thing but didn't have a clue until another shooter pointed it out to me.

Scopes with a side-focus knob are your friend.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Anyone that thinks war is good is ignorant. Anyone that thinks war isn't needed is stupid.

No to be nit picking, but you did the stupid thing at home then, not the range. Sorry I could not resist!
