    Default 870 Tactical/HD Barrel Swap

    Recently purchased a Remington 870 HD (basically same as tactical minus muzzle break) and wanted to swap the barrel for a 28" Vent Rib so I could use it for hunting fowl. After reading about how great and easy swapping barrels on the the 870s are I found a killer deal on a slightly used 28" and bought it. However when I got the barrel and went to put it on the shotgun I noticed the barrel lug sits much lower on the mag tube than the stock 18" barrel lug. I sent Remington an email asking whats up and they said you cannot swap barrels on the HD/Tactical models....wonderful, thanks Remington. So my question to you guys is, Is there an adapter tube/buffer tube that I can buy to span the space between the mag tube cap and the barrel lug? Is there a gunsmith in town who might be able to create this accessory? Should I just get an 870 Express for hunting and leave the HD at home? Thanks for the feedback!
