Staff Applications/Systems EngineerResponsibilities
- Enable Atmel sales and field applications team in North America to rapidly expand customer base and grow revenue from wireless products.
- Work closely with key customers to advise on best implementation in terms of mechanical design, sensor design, host device drivers etc.
- Keep up-to-date with latest technology developments, and disseminate technical expertise across all geographical regions and fictional groups within Atmel.
- Work with and support and train key partners, so that the partners are able to sell complete modules and solutions based on Atmel’s technology to a broad customer base.
- Become a wireless expert and take a leading role in helping to secure new designs and win new customers.
- This role requires a mix of skills covering some analogue circuit knowledge, firmware, mechanical understanding, some materials knowledge, customer guidance, communications protocols etc.
Mandatory Skills
- Help key customers with designs using Atmel’s wireless chips
- Become an expert in wireless sensor designs and deployment of wireless sensing solutions Adapt wireless sensing firmware using C and AVR microcontrollers
- Prototype solutions on the bench and create proof of concept demos
- Create collateral material, including application notes, white paper, competitive analysis
- Visit customers during integration phases where necessary and work through issues with deployment
- Participate in regular reviews with customers and internal project management to coordinate activities and discuss project status
- Troubleshoot problems with customer projects or with wireless products in general
Preferred Skills
- Experience of firmware development; software development; electronic circuit design
- PCB layout, modification and prototype construction. A good and practical grasp of mechanical issues related to product design and how to guide customers towards successful wireless deployment.
Some hardware experience useful.
Education
Degree in Electronics (Electrical) /Computer Science/Physics/Engineering
Experience
At lease five years of applications engineering experience in industry.

Performs various accounts payable and receivable activities as well as assists with special projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accounts Payable:
" Processes approved invoices by assigning vendor and general ledger accounting codes.
" Enters invoice payment information into the accounting software (Infinium)
" Process Payables via OnBase.
" Distributes operating expense invoices to departmental managers for payment authorization.

" Investigates all vendor inquiries and discrepancies between PO and Invoice.
