Default Taking fire at the South site...again.

Four out of the last six times I've been to the South site I've had to run for the truck and go inform someone that their rounds were impacting on my shooting area. Today's episode was two geniuses shooting rifles at targets set at the crest of a hill. I was a few hundred yards to the south taking rounds directly into my lane. By "directly", I mean hitting the berm next to me about head high.

I confronted them and held my temper. Tried to educate instead of chastise. I'm not sure I did the right thing.

The real pisser is I was just out there looking for my long lost half of a target stand. Dang thing is gone. Who the heck would take a useless half a stand made out of re-bar?

I am never going to this place too many idiots. I think you guys need to start threatening people with the law before someone gets killed. It could be a child someday. This would also give the anti gun people more ammo to try to limit law abiding citizens.

"shooting rifles at targets set at the crest of a hill." Geez. The South Site has so many nice berms. I guess those maroons thought their rounds reach escape velocity, if they think at all.

When I go there I usually go pretty far in to have fewer people around me.

As far as your stand - was it close to debris? I was there a few weeks ago with my son. When we were done shooting we backed my truck up to some piles of junk. Anything that wasn't native to the site got tossed into my truck for disposal. Don't remember any rebar. I was mainly going for plastic crap, boxes and shotgun shells.

Thank goodness I go to a private club where I've never had to deal with this BS.

I love gun owners but jesus, it only takes one guy with more enthusiasm than brains to ruin your life.

Probably someone put there cleaning up, thinking it was left behind like all the other trash.

The place was great before Rampart Range closed. Now all those dip-shits come up here. GRRRR! Usually the weather is crappy enough to keep most people away this time of year. Damn sunshine.

Tim, glad you are ok. After my last run-in I will now call the cops if this happens again. People this stupid will give us a bad name, I would rather it be because I reported them then because someone is hurt.

Be prepared to wait after you call Douglas County SO.... maybe an hour or two. They may be coming from as far away as Castle Rock.

The south site is not in Teller County, you are just north of the county line.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
