    One thing about all the pins and rivets is that they are hell on punches, especially when getting started. Nail sets works great to get them moving. They're cheap and much less likely to break. Once you've got it moving with the set it can be punched out. You can get a lot more directed force with one of them.

    after i break my punches i grind them down into little pointed stubbies just for this

    If you have built a Fal you can build an AK. the neat thing about AK's is unlike a Fal you can use rocks and boulders and big-assed pry bars.

    yep, got the one started with a nail set and finished it with the punch.. Broke the tip of the nail set on the second pin and then shattered 2 punches. They just don't make them like they used to.. Trying to do all of this in my condo without a workbench.

    OK Jerry, I'll admit it.. I'm just to scared..

    I've built 2 fal's and a AK from a flat...........I like FAL's better lol

    Before I met Jim and started building with him I used my basement floor as my work bench, it really gives a Khyber pass feel to be sitting on the ground building ak's lol
