    Default Choate stock

Anybody have any thoughts or experience with this type of stock?

It is the only "tactical" style stock I can find for a Savage in lefty.

I really like the HS Precision stocks ( http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/43532 ) but I haven't seen or heard if they make one in a lefty.

For a mere 4x the price you can get an XLR, which comes in lefty:

but I'm guessing that's a bit much (at least, it is for me)

I had one on a Savage years ago. It works just fine. It is bulky and heavy. Nice for shooting prone or off a bench but no way I would put it on a hunting rifle to carry around.

SO I just called HS Precision asking if they offered a stock in lefty and they only offer one, and its for single shot rifles. I then asked if they would sell a stock that wasn't inletted for the bolt handle, so I could do it myself, The answer was again no. Looks like that Choate is the only choice. I really don't like the weight of that stock though. Anyone have any other suggestions?

    Check out Manners http://mannersstocks.com/

I'm more than pleased with mine. You can order it how you want it. It looks like they have left handed models.

You get what you pay for...
