My GSP looks at you if you make a howling sound, then as soon as you tilt your head back like you're howling at the moon, he joins in. He'll howl, then it turns into a howl-bark, then full on barking. Then I stop making my howling noise and tell him to quit barking.

I can work my cat up into a frenzy by
saying “Get the squirrel!” That's his one job and he loves it.

My boxer used to literally yowl "I love you" (Seriously, it was freakishly human sounding) when we were bachelors... Ever since I've gotten married, he hasn't made a sound outside of the "stranger coming" bark. HAHAHAHAHA.

I have a beagle... he just does it for kicks and giggles except from the hours of 9PM-5AM.
Thats when he feels you can relax.

I have a pair of basset hounds. The male loves to howl. The female is pretty good about keeping her mouth shut unless someone comes around.
