Watch the weather in WV. WV turnpike is not well maintained in bad snow. Been there done that, slept in the rest area till plowed out 24 hours later. You could always drop down to Amarillo and take I-40 across.

Made it safe and sound. That iPhone app, Legal Heat, is freakin awesome. If you have an iPhone, download it.
Only negative gun-related experience was in I think Kansas. I called the county sheriffs office to ask about OC and was forwarded to 5 different people, finally landing on the county's attorney who's response was "umm.... yeah... you should be good, I think." I had intended to stop at the Wal Mart, ended up OCing with no issues there.
No snow at the WV turnpike, or anywhere else for that matter... lots of fog from the tunnel into VA through NC though.
