I used to put around 4.5 grains of Red Dot behind ordinary 200 grain semi-wadcutters as a plinking load in my .45 Colt Ruger.

Its not a bullet that is going to do well any faster than around 900 fps.

Alliant lists this for Green Dot (this is the Max, start lower):
    1.515 oal 5.5" bbl CCI 300 Green Dot 8.3gr 980fps

Some of the forums talk about 8.1 - 9.0 gr of Herco. I've never used Herco, so YMMV.

Nothing with those powders. My standard cowboy action / mousefart load is 6.5 grains of Trail Boss with that bullet. Right at 800 fps, easy to shoot and good accuracy.

Of the three you mentioned, Herco would fill the case best and is slow enough for easy full power loads, although I can't attest to the position sensitivity of any of them. Trail Boss was made to take up space, and it's fairly quick, so it's a good choice for light loads in the big .45 Colt case. For full power (standard pressure) I like Unique with just about any lead bullet.
