What cord would I need to connect my laptop to my TV? Would this work? (Both HDMI compatible)

If you have full size HDMI on the laptop yes that will work.

It should work. Assuming you're not running an ACER laptop with a mini HDMI port which is used on a lot of motorola phones and some acer laptops. It's not often used on laptops.
