    Default New Scope (face palm)

So, I love my wife, I really do. She's so thoughtful and she cooks for me and gives me back rubs and all that. However....

she bought me my rifle scope for my Larue that's still being built.... This is what she bought: http://www.bushnell.com/tactical/rif...mm-g2dmr,-1mil

she was also nice enough to get me a set of rings: http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/produc....php?pid=TR106

dang it, I love this woman!!!

Here's the rub: I want to shoot looooong range with the Larue.

Is it possible to shim these rings to make them 10 or 20 MOA offset?

    Nope.

You have 75 MOA of elevation in that scope. You should be able to go a long way with that much adjustment. You could always buy a canted base or or mount for it, but I think you should be good to 1k and better. Not sure what you consider "looooong" range though...

PS: Be thankful; most guy's wives would buy them a BSA and not know the difference...

I think out to 1200 ish is far enough for now. I still need to get out there, though. Starts with the rifle and optic.

i feel like a schmuck because I've had a couple awesome offers for night force scopes and other really nice glass for great prices.

You only get half that 75 MOA without a rail with some angle. Even with a DA of 10,000ft, you're going to just get to 1K. I'd return the rings and get something else.

And that is assuming you don't have to adjust the scope out of its mechanical center during sight in.

Is it an OBR? If so it comes with 20 MOA built-into the rail.

If its not an OBR then why are you buying it?

What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?
