Default Volunteer escorts for College campus?

Just an idea that popped into my head. What if, we could organize a group of volunteers that would be willing to escort people around on college campus's at night? The dems won't let them protect themselves so why don't we offer to help out? I understand that this wouldn't allow us to carry during to maintain the political "peace" but 2 able bodies males would be sufficient enough to deter a rapist.

Obviously, there's a lot of questions and things that would have to be addressed. I don't even know if something like this is feasible with all the liability that could entail. But, assuming we found ways to do this, could you imagine the site of pro-gun people, putting their guns down, and stepping up to the plate to help? It'd be a great time to show anti-gunners that we're more than just redneck gun nuts, it'd help keep people safe and we could even have a donation spot. All money would be donated back to NRA/RMGO or another good place (maybe something back to help the school).

Again, this just popped into my head. Feel free to critique it, shoot it down or offer other ideas to help.

Money will be the biggest thing. Time is another. People have to be on all ready to get to a building quick. They don't want to be waiting forever for some guy they don't know to show up and then walk them to their car. Do the girls tip, is it a school paid for service like the one already in place that doesn't get used because it isn't very convenient.

Its all bullshit anyways. Best thing to do is for the women to carry. If they never have to use it no biggie. If they hae to use it and save their life or save themselves from being raped and not have to pee and shit on themselves in humiliation they can deal with any backlash afterwards and the legal fees would probably be covered by the NRA, women's groups etc.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

Which college campus would you like to organize for?

I live closest to Front Range Community College. I am not aware of any significant numbers of crimes against persons on their campus. I see the campus security vehicle patrolling the parking lot every time I stop in at the library.

I listened to a story recently about Safe Passages, a program in Chicago, aimed at safeguarding children travelling to and from schools. The program is staffed primarily by veterans. I had a hard time getting past the cost of the program. It seemed to be pretty expensive, but what do I know about the cost of government services in Chicago?

I'm open to ideas. Like I said, I have no idea on the logistics for something like this. It could be pointless and unfeasible. The college campus' would depend on 1) where the volunteers are able to go 2) if they already have something in place like CU does.

+1 Sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness instead of permission.

I'm currently undecided on how I will approach this issue as a college student if the bill passes.

If there's a 1% chance that you ever see yourself running into a situation where you'd wished you'd had a gun, better to risk the fallout of disobeying mother govt than become another statistic they ignore.

I read somewhere, that some colleges, somewhere (sorry can't quote for truth here) will allow people to call the campus police and ask for escorts from class to their cars. Why doesn't everybody who is pro 2A/CCW just call....at the same time (around 9PM)....with their cars at opposite sides of the campus?
    Make them work for it!

(My wife used to be a POST certified Peace Officer for the local campus. She is now pursuing another career...and is in school...full time...and carries concealed everyday. She thinks this is all around stupid as a former cop, woman and CCW carrying responsible member of society)

Nobody is escorting me around at night. I'd rather handle my own protection. If this passes I will call them just to inconveniencing the police her like the govt is inconveniencing me.

I'll volunteer to escort college chicks back to their dorm rooms.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.
