My question is where in the hell do these people get all this money for all the guns/ammo/supplies/structures they collect?
Hard work. When i was making very good money, i had lot's of toys. Fast forward to today, between a few surgeries, laid off, wife downsized, you sometimes have to sell that which collects dust. You would be surprised how much you can acquire through bartering and other legal ventures.

Oh you can work hard and still have no money. Those little baby humans are quite the money drain I have come to find out. But you also have to be lucky enough to snag a job that makes very good money. Most folks aren't that lucky. But I get what you are saying.

I love the "underground" economy. I'm surprised how much of my hobby is now maintained through the barter system and other means of under-the-radar economics.

And you can make tons of money and still cannot afford nice toys. It's all about money management.

I have a buddy who has a standing order with cheaper than dirt to send him 1k each of the ammo he uses every month (9mm, 45, 40, 223, and I think 7.62x39, he is a little secretive). He shoots once or twice a year and throws maybe 500 rounds combined downrange. You do the math on what he has left...

Damn...must be nice to be able to spend $1500ish a month on ammo. Guess I'll just have to keep banking on my retirement plan maturing...POWERBALL!

Not a bad show. I didn't feel like they were making the people out to be crazies at all. Certainly a step up from Doomsday Preppers. This show was actually pretty even keeled IMO.

I thought it was pretty cool that they ran the Utah couple through a shoot house to show them their weaknesses.
