Yeah... You could be right. Never know though. Keep in mind this was in 2010 and that was the election with a LARGE conservative turnout.. Nation wide at least, and Hick still won.

Statements like this one always are surprising to me. Surprising in the way that the only way you can make a statement like that is if you truly believe in the two party system...that it actually is the best way to go about things in the political arena. I think bryjcom hit the nail on the head...the republican establishment was insane to think that Romney was the best shot. This country craved a STRONG conservative candidate...and the best the GOP could come up with was Romney?

Don't you find it kinda "funny" that we have had one of the most conservative uprisings in modern history and we nominate one of the most progressive "conservatives" in the field?

Coinkey dink or fraud? Hmmmm.... What does your gut say?

If by strong conservative you mean strong support of personal liberties, I agree that might have worked. The Republican establishment cannot tolerate such a candidate.

Which is exactly why the two party system always ends up like the situation we have today. If the republicans want to be the moderate progressive party that is just fine by me. But don't package a progressive as a conservative just because he has an R after his name.

Truth is this is not the result of some misguided Repubblican vote.
Truth is we are a country of suckers that still believe the politicians are there to do our best interest.
We are a country that was shocked that Bill Clinton lied to the nation whene he finally managed to get is dick sucked by something vaguely resembling a human being.
"He lied to us under oath!" DUH! He's a fucking politician!
This is the result of generations of people being thaught that they should feel guilty about slavery.
So now, like the menopausal cow that lives next door to me, they wanted to "give a black guy a chance".
Well, bend over if you want to give him a chance, see how well it works.
Oh, wait, we all bent over.
We bent over when we allowed our kids being taught that we ought to be ashamed of having had slaves 300 years ago.
Well, guess what, slavery has been practiced since the beginning of time, by ALL races.
You lose a war, you become a slave.
You get colonized, you become a slave.
You have no unity in you country, someone will come and make you his slave, one by one.
After the slave emancipation in the US the whole country of Liberia weas given to black ex-slaves to give them a homeland.
What is the first thing they did?
    They got their own slaves!
Look it up if you don't believe me.
But this is conveniently not being taught in our school: all is being taught is that white people made black people their slaves and we shall forever feel guilty about it.
The Democrats used Obama and our guilt trips to get back in power.
Yeah, give a black man a chance: that worked out well...
And, Mods, don't give me the whole racist bullshit:I am not talking anbout a race being better than another.
    I am talking facts.
    Rant over.

I'm so glad SOMEONE ELSE understands the nature of politicians.

    My Feedback

"When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law." -Frederic Bastiat

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."
