Default Settle a debate. LEO Ammo

Having a minor debate. The claim is all colorado law enforcement are required to carry Speer Gold Dots. I'm sure some agencies carry it but don't think there is any kind of state wide mandate for that. (As I type they are backpedaling that maybe it was just State Police.)

Anyone with any kind of linkable proof one way or another? Or one of our LEO's on the board can just let me know their agency doesn't use it.

Used to be Federal Hydra Shok. Now it's Winchester Ranger/PDX1.

Depends on the Dept. One dictated Hydroshock back in the day, the other just had us choose from a list of approved ammo and buy it ourselves. So in short it varies from agency to agency. I have been out of LE for a while now and from what I understand from current LE buddys is that Hydroshock has fallen out of favor.

Hydra Shoks have a horrible habbit of not punching holes in car doors and windshields... There was a fairly large shooting on Sheridan and 92nd I think a while back... Police pretty much swiss cheesed the car... The 9mm and some of the 40 were able to punch holes in the doors of the car. Most of the 45 didn't make it through, or if they did, they were stopped by the panel on the inside.

From my understanding and what I heard, that was the tipping point for the switch.
