    random thought.
Could Higgy direct the state background check folks to only issue deny in cases where that are needed but not issue any approved? Would be an instant way of getting a 1 week waiting period...

That should apply to any of these instances. Do not give them the attention they were/are looking for.
Talk about the victims. Absolutly, they deserve to be remembered. But don't make the dickless morons name be known. I still remember the names of the shooters from most school shooting but I'll be damned if I remember the victims. Should I know this stuff? No. All I remember is the Mauser kid and the only reason I know that is because his dad became an antigun advocate and wore his sons shoes to protest peoples rights who had nothing remotely to do with his sons death.
Hell I know more about the guns that were used than the victims.

This is one of the most sensible suggestions I've heard on this topic. There would be no shortage of volunteers, but you'd have hell passing legislation to allow it.

This is just the ammo they need to pass new gun legislation. I guarantee this Will lead to tighter gun control. The public will not stand for children being shot. I'm not a doomsdayer but this is the beginning of the end.

I have heard that the mother of the gunman in Conn. was/is a teacher there. Makes me wonder if it was her classroom he did this in as an attack towards her, and if he felt that she gave her students more attention than she did him. They have also reported that one adult in the school had been shot multiple times - Mom???

Edit: Apparently it was his mother's classroom, and she was among the dead:

I hope this isn't too far off topic, but there is a report that a man in China attacked 22 school children there with a knife today as well. http://www.ctnow.com/sns-rt-us-china...,5848749.story

As a parent this really breaks my heart. If gun control would solve this problem I would be for it, but it will not. I wish I had an answer, but this is the human condition and we can't change it.

I just got a call here at work from the school district saying all Sheridan Schools are on lock down. Because of this shooting. You have to call the school to make arangments if you want to pick your child up.
