Changing the name of what we call our rifle platform

There is a smart assed gunsmith somewhere I need to beat...

though I may have to give him the benefit of the doubt since he is a Colt armorer, and is only human.

How do you blame this mistake on the gunsmith? Since I presume you understood your AR-15 is semiautomatic, how would you ever think the AR stood for Automatic Rifle?

Because I was corrected by him on the designation of AR. ...like I said I am giving him the benefit of the doubt since he is a Colt Armorer, and the AR in CAR is Automatic Rifle. The other possibility is he was fucking with me and I missed the sarcasm.
