Well since you brought it up-

After the AWB in 94, the number of violent crimes using actual assault weapons aquired illegally- rose. The North Hollywood Shootout, which showcased how ineffective the police weapons and training at the time were- happened in 1997, just three years after the AWB went into effect, and all of the weapons used were illegally obtained. The Washington Sniper? Yeah, illegal weapon.

No ban will accomplish anything except to make us less safe. I am personally unwilling to compromise my safety, so I will not comply with any ban, and if it looks to gain momentum, I can only hope that the other that feel the way I do will raise our voices and be heard as one above all those that will place all of us and our families in jeopardy. More than ever, it is time to unify and present a solid front, a collective voice, and to make the entire world understand that while they are potentially well intentioned, we are resolute in thsi and will have zero tolerance for any laws that infringe upon our basic Rights as American Citizens.

Most of these "I'm a hunter and XXXX guns are not needed by anyone" letters are frauds. The gun control orgs plant them. Just like they tried to create a false-flag fake hunters for gun control organization a couple of years ago.

Not on the East Coast... that's a very popular opinion that they feel their hunting rights are protected, but thinks anyone with pistols or ARs are criminals.

9 times out of 10 when I see those "I own guns but I support sensible gun control" or "I hunt but I don't like assault weapons" posts I suspect the posters are not gun owners, not hunters and are just anti gun liberals pushing the lie that "sportsmen" are ok with gun control.
I'm ONLY a sportsman and my sports require a pistol (and it has a 17rd magazine as standard) a shotgun that relies on loading 8 shells just to even be competitive, and a semi auto rifle that will put down rounds as accurately, as quickly, and with as little reloading as possible. And I feel 100% safer playing this sport WITH STRANGERS than I do playing a pickup game of soccer at the park.

Almost all my guns were designed as weapons of war. 1917 Eddystone, Yugo Mauser, Ar15, Henry Rifle, 1911. I don't deny it. I embrace it. But it is failed argument to insist they have no other legitimate use than for the Military. Self defense, a tool to be used against tyranny, hunting, and recreation. All legitimate uses of firearms. And until we have a strong majority supporting that position, we are in danger of losing valuable rights.

"An “assault rifle” that was found in the gunman’s car…not “assaulting” anyone."

That is hilarious and true, I love it.

Bench rest is very sensible. Shootin' sticks work well too, when hunting.
