    The sheriff said the decision to use SWAT team force was justified because the father was a "self-proclaimed constitutionalist" and had made threats and "comments" over the years.

    i wonder if it will be personal suits, or suits against the local government? i'd like to see the former, where these public servants are held accountable for their actions. but if the latter, then who do you suppose pays the insanely large sum of money (not to mention the legal fees)? it kinda reminds me of Tocqueville: "The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."
